The Fashion District neighbourhood was, until the early 1990’s, the heart of Canada’s garment industry. The area has seen a rebirth with many of the shop worn buildings finding new life as loft condominiums projects and funky office space for the media services, high tech communications and graphic industries.
New condominium projects have recently been built or are underway on Richmond, Queen and Wellington and in the King-Spadina area. These projects are midrise lofts and high risebuildings with sleek designs and ultra modern amenities.
This is a very lively neighbourhood whose vitality is fueled by its proximity to the Entertainment District and the large variety of shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
The Queen West and King West shopping districts are central to this neighbourhood, while Kensington Market and Chinatown are within steps of the area. |
